Best Makeup Removers

Taking your makeup off after a long day is such a daunting task. Sometimes it can be soo overwhelming that you just want to leave your makeup on and forget about it. Finding the best makeup remover is the way to go because it will shorten the time you need to take off all your makeup.

There are five categories of makeup remover that I have tried and know about; balms, gel, makeup wipes, cleanser, and makeup pads.

Balms: It is important to say that cleansing balms are the best way to remove makeup in my experience. Not only does it take off all my makeup, it but I end up using the least amount of product. The Physician Formula Cleansing balm is a great way to try a balm that is relatively cheap.

Cleansing Pads: These Garnier Makeup Remover Pads are amazing. They are small but they are soaking in micellar water and one pad goes a long way. The best part is that they are drugstore and usually I only use 2 pads to take off all my makeup. After finding these pads I haven’t used a makeup wipes.

Micellar Water: Micellar water is great for taking off your makeup. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is really hydrating and gets most of your makeup off with a bit of effort. Micellar water was hard for me to use because I had to have cotton pads or a face towel to use it. I would recommend the micellar pads instead.

Wipes: Makeup wipes have become old news. It is very rare that I actually pick up a makeup wipe and use it to take off my makeup. For me, it takes about two of the Simple Facial wipes to take off all my makeup. It is rough on the skin and especially if you have on eye makeup. Some make up wipes tend to give my skin a burning sensation, is another reason I stay away from makeup wipes.

Cleanser: Although I am sure there are some good makeup foaming cleansers out there, The La Roche-Posay is not one of them. This cleanser does not remove my eye makeup such as mascara, which I have to go back and remove with another product. I wcould not recommend this to anyone who want to a product to remove most of their makeup.

Removing makeup should be a two step process. First take off most of your makeup with one of the product mentioned above and then wash your face with a gentle cleanser before moisturizing. Removing all your makeup is important to making your skin looking youthful and healthy.

How to Match Your Makeup to the Season

As the season changes, so should your makeup. Foundations can wear differently on skin depending on the weather. Some lipstick colors are more trendy during certain seasons.

When it is hot outside, wearing a dewy foundation would increase your chances of having an oily face faster than if you use a matte foundation. One foundation I recommend in the summer is the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. The Double Wear foundations extremely long-wearing and matte. Popular lipstick colors in the summer are usually peach or nude pinks with a gloss. Lipstick such Urban Decay First Sin and Dose of Colors Jazzy lipgloss would be a great combination.

During the winter, dry skin makes it hard to wear a matte foundation. A matte foundation would make your skin look dryer, which is not ideal. Using a dewy or satin foundation such as the L’oreal Infallible 24 Hour foundation would be a better choice to wear during the winter. During fall and winter is the best time to bring out the berry tone lipsticks and darker shades in your lipstick collection. Lipsticks such as Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow and Lover Liberty are dark mauve color that would be stunning colors to rock in the winter.

Finally, it is important to wear a primer before putting foundation or concealer on your skin. Primer gives your skin a layer of protection form makeup and different primers can help with different issues you may have on your skin such as pores, hyperpigmentation, and dark circles. A good affordable primer is the Maybelline Facestudio Master Prime Primer. Although primer is important, sunscreen should always come first. Sunscreen should be the first step to any makeup routine or step before going outside. Any sunscreen would work under your foundation even if it leaves a white cast, as long you are not doing flash photography.

How to change your makeup according to the weather.
Hopefully these tips are helpful and provide an insight as to why your makeup routine is always changing.

Budget Friendly Eyeshadow Palettes for Beginners!

Hello! This is Zaineb and today I wanted to go into details about eyeshadow palettes that are great for beginners. Every person who loves make-up starts a collection of eyeshadow palettes either for aesthetic reason or for the love of make-up. As I has a hard time when I first started to discover eyeshadow, I would love to offer some advice to someone who is just getting started. My first palette was Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance Palletes, which was $65! Not only was is hard to use for a beginner but it was EXPENSIVE! Today, there are more companies that offer palette that just as great for a lower price. Someone who is just getting started in the make-up world can build their collection with cheaper palettes and see what they like before buying palettes that cost more than a whole outfit!

Urban Decay

Urban Decay is a high-end band that is sold online and in stores at Ulta and Sephora. Although usually, UD has a palette that has been going on sale for 40% -50 % off. The Born to Run Palette is an absolutely beautiful, high quality, and cheap for amount of product you receive. With this palette, it is possible to create many different looks considering the palette has warm, colorful, and neutral shades.  The original price of the palette is $49, on sale you could get for $24-$28.

Colourpop

An affordable and great quality brand to start a make-up collection is Colourpop. colourpop is an online retailer that is very affordable and ships worldwide. Recently Colourpop has been creating 9 pan eyeshadows for $12. Colourpop pop usually has sale going on and you can get one palette as low as $8. Each palette has a different color scheme such as a red palette, blue palette, and green palette.

Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution is a makeup brand that dupes (replicates) expensive palettes such as Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance Palette. They have many palettes available in Ulta and one their own website. Although I have only tried one of the Reloaded Palettes, I believe that the quality is decent for the price. Each of the Reloaded Palettes is $7.00 before any coupon or sale. I would recommend this brand if your are not able to get your hand on the Colourpop palettes.

Wet n Wild

Wet n Wild is a budget friendly brand that is available in drugstores, large retailers such as Walmart, and online. Recently, Wet n Wild revamped their eyeshadow formula and added more colors to their old 8-pan palettes. The Color Icon Eyeshadow 10- Pan Palettes are only $4.99 and the color payoff for the shadows is amazing. My favorite palette is the Comfort Zone, which has beautiful earthy tones. As a brand Wet n Wild is always coming out with new collections and collaborations. It is a good idea to keep an eye out for all the new products they launch.

Juvia’s Place Juvia’s Place is a brand that I recently was able to hit at Ulta. I always wanted to try their palettes but I try not to buy anything that I cannot first see in person. When an Ulta near started selling the palettes in stores , I could resist buying some of them. The color payoff of any of the palettes by Juvia’s Place is fantastic. Fortunately, they were on sale for 25% off the original price. The eyeshadow palette are absolutely beautiful and have such a variety of color schemes. The palettes cost anywhere from $9-$18.

As much as I love makeup and palettes, I hate paying full price for anything. I am always on the hunt for a way to save money. With brands that can be found in drugstores, there are random days where they have deals on certain brands. For example, CVS has a deal in the past that if you buy $10 worth of makeup from Wet n Wild with your CVS card, you would get $5  in Extrabucks, which could be used to buy anything from the store. There are also manufacturer coupons that CVS gives you about every couple of week for L’Oréal, Maybelline, and Revlon. There are so many ways to when your on a budget. For brand that are available in Ulta, signup for their newsletter. Every newsletter has a $3.50 coupon off of $15 of drugstore makeup. Ulta occasionally send out 20% on drugstore brands. Lastly, I would check the brands website, Ulta.com, and Cvs.com for any online sale that are constantly going on.
