Taking your makeup off after a long day is such a daunting task. Sometimes it can be soo overwhelming that you just want to leave your makeup on and forget about it. Finding the best makeup remover is the way to go because it will shorten the time you need to take off all your makeup.
There are five categories of makeup remover that I have tried and know about; balms, gel, makeup wipes, cleanser, and makeup pads.
Balms: It is important to say that cleansing balms are the best way to remove makeup in my experience. Not only does it take off all my makeup, it but I end up using the least amount of product. The Physician Formula Cleansing balm is a great way to try a balm that is relatively cheap.
Cleansing Pads: These Garnier Makeup Remover Pads are amazing. They are small but they are soaking in micellar water and one pad goes a long way. The best part is that they are drugstore and usually I only use 2 pads to take off all my makeup. After finding these pads I haven’t used a makeup wipes.
Micellar Water: Micellar water is great for taking off your makeup. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is really hydrating and gets most of your makeup off with a bit of effort. Micellar water was hard for me to use because I had to have cotton pads or a face towel to use it. I would recommend the micellar pads instead.
Wipes: Makeup wipes have become old news. It is very rare that I actually pick up a makeup wipe and use it to take off my makeup. For me, it takes about two of the Simple Facial wipes to take off all my makeup. It is rough on the skin and especially if you have on eye makeup. Some make up wipes tend to give my skin a burning sensation, is another reason I stay away from makeup wipes.
Cleanser: Although I am sure there are some good makeup foaming cleansers out there, The La Roche-Posay is not one of them. This cleanser does not remove my eye makeup such as mascara, which I have to go back and remove with another product. I wcould not recommend this to anyone who want to a product to remove most of their makeup.
Removing makeup should be a two step process. First take off most of your makeup with one of the product mentioned above and then wash your face with a gentle cleanser before moisturizing. Removing all your makeup is important to making your skin looking youthful and healthy.
